Mondul Coffee Estate is a historic producer of specialty coffee with environmentally responsible management, located in northern Tanzania. Founded in 1899 by German settlers, the estate is named after the natural springs that supply water to both the irrigation system and neighboring communities. After several changes of ownership, it has been under the administration of a group of Swiss investors since 1929.
Currently, the estate manages 302 hectares of shade-grown Arabica coffee, with more than 200 permanent employees and about 2,000 seasonal workers during harvest. Burka maintains a strong commitment to responsible and environmentally friendly production practices, and provides housing, medical services, and education to its permanent staff and their families.
Located at the foot of Mount Meru, Mondul enjoys an optimal climate for growing high-quality specialty coffee, ensuring both an exceptional cup and sustainable production.
