The Lindalaja estate is located in the municipality of Santo Domingo, department of Antioquia, Colombia, on the slope of a mountain in the Vereda del Rosario at an altitude between 1,650 and 1,950 meters above sea level.
Santo Domingo is a town of 10,500 inhabitants, where agriculture, and more specifically coffee, is the main source of subsistence, where around 1,100 families live off this product.
Finca Lindalaja was acquired by Don Bernardo Lopera in 1972 and since its beginning as a coffee farm it has been a model to follow for the farms in the region, given the quality and quantity of coffee cherries it produces.
After a long pause in production due to the Colombian socio-political situation in the 1990s, Juan José Lopera, Don Bernardo's son, resumed production and began planting again in 2017 with the great advantage of rested and fertile land.

"Since then we have been taking care of the land, restoring its productivity step by step and in a sustainable way. At the Lindalaja farm we produce our own compost through a composting process with worms.
We are blessed with four water sources that run along the slopes of the mountain where the farm is located. We have donated one of them to the municipality of Santo Domingo to support the water supply to the residents of the area.
Given our wealth of water, there are 10 hectares of primary forests and jungles on the farm's land. We are committed to caring for them and maintaining them in their natural state, protecting them from logging and other exploitative uses.
Instead of using pesticides and herbicides, we have decided to take the route of weeding by hand. This has several benefits for the land and the region. On the one hand, we do not see the need to poison the land with products that are harmful to health and to the quality of our coffee cup. On the other hand, the work of weeding by hand is an intense job that the residents of the Vereda do with great care. This returns money to the region through their salaries instead of taking it out of the region by paying for herbicides and pesticides produced by multinational companies.
In this way and many others, we position the Lindalaja farm as a model farm of sustainable work at a social, environmental and economic level to promote the Santo Domingo region and its people by supporting where we can and to be able to offer you a very high quality coffee that you can enjoy knowing that with each cup you drink you are doing something good."
