Lyquidambar is produced by a family-owned exporter with over 100 years of experience in growing, processing and exporting one of the best coffees in the country. The main activities of this collective are located in the best region of El Salvador for coffee cultivation: the Apaneca-Ilamatepec region, known for its fantastic soils, microclimates and an optimal environment perfect for coffee cultivation. The Apaneca mountain range in western El Salvador is a volcanic mountain range that includes the Ilamatepec volcano, one of the most active in the region. The Apaneca-Ilamatepec coffee-growing region, with 1.26 million inhabitants and an area of 4,289.95 km², includes 37 districts, including Santa Ana, Ahuachapán, Juayúa and Sonsonate, where more than 9,740 families cultivate 70,881 hectares of Arabica coffee of varietals such as Pacas, Bourbon, Pacamara, Catimores and Catuaí. It is the main coffee-growing region in El Salvador, producing 53% of the country's coffee.
