Nestled among the steep hills of northwestern Rwanda, the Vunga Cooperative produces a clear and expressive coffee, made with water from a nearby natural spring in Virunga National Park.
☕ Washing process that enhances clarity :
The washed process and aerobic fermentation produce a clean, lively, and very expressive cup, with bright acidity and balanced sweetness.
High-altitude terroir :
Nyabihu, in the northwest region of Rwanda, at 1,650–2,000 m above sea level, surrounded by plantain and banana plantations, offers ideal conditions for a fresh and crisp profile.
👩🌾 Women-led cooperative :
Vunga is a cooperative founded in 2009 and led by Daphrose Uwimana , made up of 260 members who work for quality and community impact.
The water used in the process comes from a natural source within Virunga National Park, home to mountain gorillas.
Vunga has qualified twice for the Rwanda Cup of Excellence competition (2012 and 2014).

Bourbon Red , a classic selection from Rwanda that brings floral, citrus and fruity character when processed by washing.
